Zamal Academics ("we," "us," "our," or the "Company") operates https://academics.zamal.org and connects parents, students, and tutors for home tutoring, online tutoring, language courses, test preparation, and related educational services. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to everyone who visits or uses our site, including:

Parents, students, and guardians who submit an enquiry, contact us, or browse our tutor directory and academic content;
Tutors and tutor applicants who register, complete onboarding, and upload credentials to be listed on our platform; and
General visitors reading our blog or academic pages, or subscribing to our newsletter.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us directly

Enquiries and contact forms — name, email address, phone number, city, and details about the tutoring you're looking for (subject, grade, curriculum).
Tutor registration — name, contact details, date of birth, CNIC/ID scans, a profile photo, resume/CV, educational qualifications, teaching experience, subjects and curricula you teach, availability, and language(s) spoken.
Tutor references — contact details of the references you provide; we email them directly to verify your teaching background.
Registration payment — proof-of-payment uploads for the tutor registration fee, which we review to verify payment.
Newsletter and blog — your email address if you subscribe, and your name/email if you comment on a blog post.
WhatsApp — if you message us through the WhatsApp button, we receive whatever you send us via WhatsApp's own service.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we automatically log some technical information when you visit — pages viewed, browser and device type, and approximate location inferred from your IP address. We use essential cookies (for example, to keep your session and to protect forms with CSRF tokens). If analytics or advertising tools such as Google Analytics or Meta/Facebook Pixel are enabled on our site, they may set additional cookies to help us understand how the site is used; where that's the case we rely on those providers' own privacy safeguards for the data they process.

3. How we use your information

To respond to enquiries and match families with suitable tutors;
To review, verify, and (where appropriate) approve tutor applications — including checking submitted credentials and contacting references;
To process and verify tutor registration fee payments;
To operate the tutor directory and display tutor profile information to prospective families;
To send service-related communications, such as reference-verification requests, application status updates, and reminders;
To send newsletter or promotional emails, only if you've subscribed, and to let you unsubscribe at any time;
To maintain the security of our site and prevent fraud or misuse; and
To understand how our site is used, so we can improve it.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations:

With tutors and families as part of the matching process — for example, a tutor's approved profile information (name, subjects, qualifications, city, photo) is shown publicly in our tutor directory so families can find and evaluate them.
With the references a tutor applicant provides — we contact them directly to verify the applicant's background.
With service providers who help us run the site (for example, hosting and email delivery), under obligations to protect your data.
When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of the Company, our users, or the public.

5. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as it's needed for the purpose it was collected — for example, tutor application and verification records are kept for as long as a tutor is active on our platform (and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping), and enquiry details are kept while we're helping you find a tutor. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to section 7 below.

6. Children's information

Our services are used to arrange tutoring for children, but our site itself is intended for use by parents, guardians, and adult tutors. Where information about a student is submitted (for example, a child's grade or subjects), it is provided to us by a parent or guardian on the student's behalf, not by the child directly.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop processing it, by contacting us at academics@zamal.org. We'll respond as soon as we reasonably can. If you've subscribed to our newsletter, every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also decline the floating WhatsApp button by simply not using it.

8. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

9. International visitors

Zamal Academics is based in Valencia Town, Lahore, Pakistan, and the families and tutors who use our site are located in a number of countries. Your information is processed and stored where our systems operate, which may be outside your own country. By using our site, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in a country other than the one you live in.
